Using Quick Search with Timeline.
Everything is an event
An ’event’ can be anything from a phone call to an email to a meeting or a handover. All events are kept together. As all events make up one list there is only one place to search. Quick Search allows you to filter the list to what you need to see. Anything on an event is searchable, so you will be able to find what you need quickly and simply.
Using Quick Search
You can narrow down the list of events visible to you by using the Quick Search field at the top left of the screen.
Quick Search works by using tokens. Tokens enable you to enter exactly what you want; quickly filtering the events to the ones you want to see.
The list of events can quickly grow and the default view shows all of them. You can type search criteria into the Quick Search field to narrow the list.
A few of our favourites are: the type of event; the contact the event is with; or yourself.
Entering the type of event you want to filter, this allows you to action events with the same ‘type’ together. For example, you may want to get all your email events actioned in one blast (or to quickly pull up your call list).
Viewing events by dates
You can use the Search Builder function to filter your events by their start or end date. We strongly recommend saving (and sharing) some of the most common views (using Saved Views). This means you can then create tabs on your Timeline List View that automatically filter your events into time periods (such as ‘today’, ‘this week’, ‘next month’ etc.)
Clearing a Search
To clear a search simply click on the 'x' at the end of the search box to clear all the tokens OR click on each tag individually to remove just one of the criteria you have applied.
